Information stored on your iPhone
Custom phrase sets, recordings, on-device transcripts, word-comparison results, durations, reported input-route names, favorites, settings, and private notes are stored in MimicLoop's local app container.
Microphone
MimicLoop requests microphone permission only after you tap Record my take. Recording is explicit, and a persistent red recording state, timer, actual input route, and Stop & compare control remain visible while recording.
On-device speech recognition
If you permit speech recognition and Apple's on-device English recognizer is supported, MimicLoop uses it to show what the device heard. The request requires on-device recognition. If that is unavailable, denied, or restricted, MimicLoop keeps playback and pace available and does not substitute a network recognizer.
Feedback limits
Matched, not-heard, and extra-heard words reflect the recognizer's transcript, which can be wrong. Heard-word coverage is a plain word count, and pace is a duration comparison. Neither is a pronunciation, accent, fluency, native-speaker, proficiency, clinical, or ability score.
Exports and sharing
MimicLoop Pro creates a CSV and copies existing recording files locally. Those files leave the app only after you explicitly choose destinations in the iOS share sheet.
Purchases
The one-time lifetime purchase is processed by Apple. MimicLoop can read StoreKit product and entitlement status, but ToolBistro does not receive payment card details.
Tracking and data sale
MimicLoop contains no third-party analytics, advertising, cross-app tracking, or data broker SDKs. ToolBistro does not sell personal data.
Delete your data
Delete individual sets or takes in MimicLoop, use Delete All Data to remove local sets, history, notes, transcripts, favorites, settings, and recordings, or delete the app to remove its remaining local data.
